An innovator at heart with a PhD in Lateral Thinking, Ivan Gomez has a passion for creating relationships between business and customer, creator and audience. Ivan emerged into the Australian fashion industry in 1993 designing for some of the world’s leading music acts with Invasion Clothing. After selling Invasion Clothing, he created Vicious Threads, an iconic 2000s streetwear brand stocked at Myer, David Jones and internationally in the United States, UK and Japan.

After a series of collaborations between Vicious Threads and brands, including Microsoft and Motorola, Ivan sold the label to Shock Records and took his 15 years of experience working with brands, fashion and the music industry to create strategic content agency, Department of the Future, in 2008. DOTF led with Speaker TV, an award-winning streaming television platform pre-dating Netflix that allowed musicians, artists and brands to speak directly to their community, servicing a unique space in music and culture media in Australia. For 14 years, DOTF has focused on authentic storytelling through video content creation and strategy. Recently Ivan established DOTF Ventures, offering the opportunity to support projects and people with innovation and passion in the areas of animals, health, tech, food and entertainment.
